She's The Queen Of The Freaks...Queen Bee
Tattoo by Charlotte at Lovecraft Tattoos .
Prior to Charlotte adding her beautiful Medusa to my leg, she designed this tattoo for me. Charlotte has such a compassionate demeanor and a warm spirit. She holds this beautiful space for clients to experience not just the act of getting tattooed but also the emotional experience many of us experience when we want to hold something permanently on our skin. Charlotte understand the power art holds when we invite someone in to our lives and to create something memorable on our bodies. It only made sense to have Charlotte create this tattoo for me.
I was looking for a bumble bee with the moon phases to mirror the owl tattoo I had on my other shoulder. I wanted a tattoo that encompassed a few things I had embraced at this stage of my life. I accept the movement of the earth, the flow of time, the cyclical cycle we live by. I embraced my hardworking bee nature, the need to buzz around completing tasks, the need to build a hive, create community. I even embraced the need to feed, to pollinate, to create honey and sweetness and nurture those around me. All things I had done before, all things I never stopped doing and all things I could not recognize within myself until this moment.
This little bee in her garden, flowing around the phases of the planet, accepting her role, her work, her sweetness, her edge...I could not think of a better way to know that I am always with me, I always have my own back, I have the sweetness and the stinger, I am the Queen Bee.
