Just One Bite

Tattoo by Brite at Hartford Country Tattoos in Bristol, CT October 2021

Snow Whites poison apple was the highlight of my early childhood. The first movie I can remember seeing in theaters was Snow White and The Seven Dwarves at the Hyde Park Movie Theater. My mom snuck in homemade popcorn, juice boxes and snow caps and sat us in the quiet theater and we were enthralled (my brother and I).

I don’t remember wanting a price to save me, I don’t remember dreaming of that kiss or becoming a princess. I do remember wanting birds and deer to help me with the dishes, and wanting a magic mirror to talk back to me, to meet dwarves and most of all I wanted a shot at that poison apple.

I was convinced that I was magical enough that, that perfect red apple wouldn’t have killed me. So my mom in all her love, bought some bright red apples and made homemade caramel apples and carved little faces in them just like the poison apple. As we can tell I did not die, and was convinced I was magical (still convinced).

So when someone passed on Brite’s IG and I saw her incredibly bright and vibrant work I knew she had to be the person to create this tattoo. Nothing about her disappointed! Such a truly kind and compassionate person with the most gentle touch and the ability to create such incredible art. And look at that dot work! Tattoo sprinkles/glitter is that ultimate tattoo win!
